8 Advocacy and Values-Driven Outcomes

We plan to have outcomes in several areas, ranging from Social, Cultural, Economics, Environmental, Geo-political areas.

Goal 1: To Move from Traditional and Cultural Farming Methods into a Subsistent, Sustainable and Value-Added Farming

- Target: 80% of land to be used for a mix of traditional and technology enhanced method of farming Crops. Total yield is targeted to be at least 120% of total possible land output under traditional methods.

Goal 2: To Create Diversified Farming Products

- Primary Output:
  - Mixed plots of Traditional Community crop with plots of modern methods to boost yields (120%)
  - Diversification of primary crop. E.g. grow a variety of crops rather than current mono-culture.
  - To look at global trends of commodities and agricultural products and to meet global demands. (2018: to supply China with soya beans due to China-US trade war)
- Secondary Output :
  - Processed crop products: Food products, oil etc.
  - Quality products specially grown, selected and tested: By special methods, select farmers’ method, Select quality (taste or Nutrition), Eco-themed products (e.g. carbon neutral crops etc), packaging and branding
- Tertiary Output:
  - Recycling of 'waste' products from agriculture: Rice stalks, husks etc.
  - Taking in waste products of other farms and turning them into new outputs. E.g. bio-diesel, bio-plastics.

Goal 3: To Promote Technology Use to increase Crop variety, yield & resilience; safety and productivity to the farmers

- Greenhouse and farming Research: Cross-breeding, aeroponics, hydroponics and aquaponics, selective breeding, (NO GMOs)

Goal 4: To provide Continuing Education and Opportunities for Farmers

- Farmers will learn new farming skills and methods
- Farmers to be retrained to be engaged in other forms of economic activity
- Farmers can serve as champions and provide advisory services to others

Goal 5: To develop Closed-Loop Farming Systems

- Using Food-Waste to produce compost.
- Agricultural output to be used to raise Fish and other livestock.
- Human Sewage to be recycled (Use of dry or wet separating potty)
  - Urine as fertilizer (Faeces will have to be treated with slaked Lime)
  - Faeces as compost.

Goal 6: To diversify Farming Outputs and Products:

- Rice --> Cooperative Sales and Edu-community-cultural Package
- Corn --> Oil --> Bio-diesel
- Peppercorn farm
- Mushroom → Ingredients → Food
- Mushroom → Textile → Product
- Bee Hives
- Aquaculture --> Fish --> Algae --> Bio-diesel
- Edu-Community-Cultural Package

Goal 7: To deal with Environmental Concerns such as Climate Change and Disasters

- To deal with climate change and drastic Weather patterns such as Typhoons, Droughts.
- People quitting the farming industry
- The theft of Intellectual property by other farmers and organisations

Goal 8: To serve as Test-bed and the development of Proof of Concepts for New Startups.
